Tuesday 28 May 2013

This week, there's news of a spate of thefts of cameras and equipment from dealers across the South East, including Leica in Mayfair. Most accounts of the culprit's identity point to the same man in all the robberies.

In product news, Leica has revealed that it is to announce its 'Mini M' CSC in the next couple of weeks.

Meanwhile Olympus is to supply lenses to Sony as part of the two companies' 400-million-pound tie up of last year.

Elsewhere, a photography website has been rapped by the Advertising Standards Agency for the misleading use of a logo belonging to Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP).

There's good news from Jacobs which is relaunch itself as an online dealer, but on a sad note, we said goodbye to pioneering street photographer and former president of Magnum, Wayne Miller, who died at the age of 94.

Finally, best of luck to Nick Richens, managing director of London Camera Exchange who is to set off on a charity bike ride on 4 June
