Over the past few weeks we've seen a number of launches that have really caught our interest. One of the real headline-grabbing announcements was that of the new Sony Cyber-shot HX50 – the world's smallest digital camera to incorporate a 30x optical zoom covering a huge focal range of 24 - 720mm in 35mm equivalent terms.

Samsung CSC fans will have one more model to consider now, after the launch of the new Samsung NX2000. The model shares a lot of its core functionality with the recently-reviewed NX300, although the rear of the model sees the addition of an impressive 3.7in touchscreen.

Finally, if competitions are your thing then we've got a treat for you running on the website at the moment. We're giving readers the opportunity to win a mystery as-yet-unannounced Olympus camera, as well as the chance to join me on a day out shooting.
