Hello Photo

Macro photography can show us familiar subjects in a completely new light. Once you get up close and personal it's amazing how different the most everyday things can look. But one problem a lot of us have with macro is depth of field. The immediate foreground of our shot is crisply defined and full of detail, but rapidly blurs out of focus the further back we get. This is where focus stacking can help. Find out how it can radically improve your images in the latest issue of Digital Photographer.

We're all about looking at things differently this issue. From the incredible cave photography of Stephen Alvarez to the documentary Magnus Dennis shot on a Canon 5D, this issue of the magazine is packed full of amazing surprises. Animal lovers will also find a great competition inside so get your paws on our print or digital edition as soon as you can to find out the details.

If, like us, you're currently enjoying summertime, remember to check out the special offer below from our friends at Blurb - a discount photo book is the perfect way to present your holiday snaps!

Enjoy the issue,

April Madden, Editor
