Friday 14 June 2013

It has been a busy couple of weeks with a number of camera announcements taking the limelight in the news. Pentax added to its DSLR range by unveiling the K-50 and K-500, while the latest Q-series camera - the Q7 - adopts a larger sensor. The Leica X Vario was also released this week and becomes the world's first compact with an APS-C sensor and fixed lens.

In other news, Adobe has released Lightroom 5, Canon has launched the new wide angle 11-22mm lens for the Canon EOS M, and Fujifilm and Panasonic have announced they're in the early stages of developing a new type of organic sensor that's claimed to enhance sensitivity and expand dynamic range for future cameras.

With Father's Day just around the corner, you still have plenty of time to buy a subscription to What Digital Camera. With digital editions available in a range of formats for iPads and Kindles, why not treat your Dad to a gift he'll enjoy month after month.

Lastly, don't forget to join us on sunny Bournemouth Beach on Sunday 23 June from 10.30am-5pm at the VW Camper & Bus Show. Experts from Pentax, What Digital Camera and Amateur Photographer will be on hand to give out free photo advice to help you capture the perfect shot.
