Fujifilm has decided to broaden its X-series lineup by announcing the X-A1 - a CSC that's aimed at those looking to make the step up to a more advanced system camera. Available in a series of different colours with a more entry-level aesthetic, we've laid hands on the camera to bring you an X-A1 first-look preview. Just when we thought most of the world's firsts had been achieved, Nikon has broken new ground by releasing the world's first waterproof and shockproof interchangeable lens camera. The Nikon 1 AW1 joins the company's fleet of CSCs and uses the same 14.2MP CX-format CMOS sensor from previous Nikon 1-series models. To find out more about this innovative release, What Digital Camera's Reviews Editor, Michael Topham, met up with Thuan Bui, product manager for Nikon 1 products, at the launch of the new Nikon 1 AW1. There has also been some new software released this week in the form of Adobe Photoshop Elements 12. The focus, unsurprisingly, seems to be on increasing the ease and versatility of image sharing. You can find the full news story of Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 on the website where it's accompanied by a brief first-look video at the new and improved features. Also on the website this week, we've been comparing two of our favourite Compact System Cameras - the Olympus OM-D E-M5 and the all-new OM-D E-M1. If you're unsure of the differences between the two and what the E-M1 offers that the E-M5 doesn't, check out our Olympus OM-D comparison page.
