There's been quite a bit going on recently regarding kit. For instance, Nikon has announced it is to release the enthusiast-level Coolpix P7800 compact camera. It's been fitted with an EVF in response to customer demand and succeeds the P7700. It is out at the end of this month.

Fuji, meanwhile, has confirmed the long-awaited release of its delayed 23mm f/1.4 lens for CSCs. It'll be out in October.

There's product from Ricoh, too. This time in the shape of the Theta, a palm-sized device that can capture a fully spherical image in one shot. Although it was showcased back in January, it's available for pre-order from next month.

Lexar, in the meantime, has released a four-bay memory card hub, which is intended to save photographers time.

Elsewhere, it's great to see that the photographic archive of Lewis Morley, who recently passed away, has been donated to the National Media Museum in Bradford.

Finally, a shameless plug by me for AP's 21 September issue. It's another special, but this time it will tell you all you need to know about getting your pictures out there and working for you. Everything from self-publishing to getting the most out of the internet. Don't miss it, reading it and following the advice might just be the start of wonderful things. Who knows?
