Welcome to the latest newsletter.

Of late, it seems there's been something of a gentle renaissance in film. It's by no means a headlong stampede back to the past, it's just that there's been a rise in the number of people exploring the creativity and fun to be had with the medium. No doubt, there's a big retro appeal to it all. Anyway, that's Fujifilm's given reason for its release of the Instax Mini 90 Neo Classic . The company is trumpeting it as the ‘perfect antidote to the disposable digital age'.

Meanwhile, there is still no word on when a Kodak-branded compact system camera (CSC) will appear. The intention was to launch it in the third quarter, which we have now entered.

Speaking of delays or, perhaps more accurately – re-scheduling, a new photo show for London that was meant to take place next March has been moved to October 2014.

Finally, news that greatly interested me - because I appreciate her work - was the re-discovery of an album of images by Julia Margaret Cameron.

That's all folks.

READER GALLERY ONLINE PHOTO OF THE WEEK

Each week AP's art editor chooses his favourite reader image from the past week's uploads to our Reader Gallery.

This is proving to be far more difficult than I envisaged - so many great shots to choose from. My choice this week is one that I just kept coming back to. A fine example of what can be found by changing your angle of view. This week's Photo of the week is 'A Piece Of The Puzzle' by Mark Cornick. Congratulations.
