An Invitation From National Geographic
Explorer-in-Residence Spencer Wells

Hello, Friend,

As a population geneticist, I've spent years studying
humanity's broad genetic spectrum and the mysteries of
early human migration.

In 2005, we launched the Genographic Project—tracing the history of humankind through DNA—with a team of scientists around the world. Since then, more than 627,00 people have participated—and learned about their own ancestry in the process.

In 2012, we launched Geno 2.0, and the results have been groundbreaking. Using an exclusive, custom-built genotyping chip, we test nearly 150,000 DNA markers that have been specifically selected to provide us with unprecedented ancestry-related information

As people continue to join and contribute their results to our
ongoing research, our findings will deepen, and we will
gain a richer understanding about ourselves and the history
of the human journey.

Consider making a lasting and meaningful contribution to the book of human history.
