In the news this week, Olympus says it has improved the AF operation of its flagship OM-D E-M1 via a new firmware update. In business news Leica says that it has completed its takeover of Swiss camera-maker Sinar, a move which gives the company 'a complete product portfolio'. It's happy birthday to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, which will celebrate 50 years when it opens for entries on 9 December. Finally, we bid farewell to Saul Leiter, one of the pioneers of colour photography, who passed away this week.
