Friday 27th December 2013

New Year can be as good a time as any to pick up a camera bargain, and what with so many retailers offering very tempting post Christmas sales it's important to know what cameras, lenses and accessories make the very best buy. If you're unsure of which telephoto zoom lens is best, or what the best cameras are for under £500, head over to our Round-ups page where we reveal all.

The festive season is usually a quiet time for camera releases and photo news, however as per usual at this time of the year the winners of the Travel Photographer of the Year Awards have been announced. Head over to our 21 amazing shots from Travel Photographer of the Year 2013 article where you'll find some of the best shots taken around the globe over the last twelve months.

If 2014 is going to be the year for a new camera purchase you'll want to read up on some of the hottest cameras out there right now. For those looking for their first DSLR there's the excellent Nikon D5300, for those after something a bit more retro there's the awesome Fujifilm X-E2, and if money is no object the Nikon Df with its full-frame sensor and classic film styling is likely to appeal.

From everyone at What Digital Camera, we hope you enjoy the festive season and we look forward to bringing you the best and latest reviews throughout 2014.

Happy New Year!
