Delving into the new year, our team is over in Las Vegas this week to bring you the latest camera and lens previews from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014. In the run-up to CES Samsung decided to announce its two new camera additions, the Galaxy Camera 2 and the NX30, along with a new premium 16-50mm lens for the NX series. The Galaxy 2 features improved battery life and a 21x optical zoom, whereas the NX30 boasts a continuous burst rate of 9fps, 20.3MP sensor and next-generation processor.
Fujifilm also decided to announce a a whole host of new cameras including the FinePix S1, which is the world's first weather-resistant bridge camera. They also have an all black update to the X100S a year after its initial release. Big news from CES is Nikons announcement of a new entry level DSLR, the D3300. This will sit alongside the popular D3100 and D3200. The new camera features a 24.2MP sensor and wider ISO range, read more about it here. In darker news, an analyst has reported that only Nikon, Canon and Sony will emerge triumphant in the battle against smartphone cameras.
