Shoot amazing vistas, 24-hours a day

Hi Photo,
Photography is all about light; it is the most important thing to focus on when you're shooting. Landscape photographers are well aware that the golden hours around sunrise and sunset make for some of the best tones, but in issue 147 we show you this doesn't always matter, teaching you how to get amazing landscapes at any time of the day.

This issue we also have a fantastic in-depth guide to photojournalism from Oli Scarff, a staff news photographer for Getty Images, as well as five essential RAW fixes. We've also got advice on how to break into the fashion photography industry, photographer Lee Pengelly reviews Sony's a7R, and we look to find out which is the best camera for landscapes.

Whatever camera you're using, take the time this month to try shooting in challenging lighting conditions. Learn how to solve problems and utilise harsher light and not only will you improve your understanding of your kit, but you may just come out with some of the best photos you've ever taken. Why not enter these shots into the Digital Photographer of the Year awards for a chance to win a Samsung NX30!

Enjoy the issue,

Amy Squibb - Editor
